FUNDRAISING

The Lethbridge Amateur Speed Skating Association is very appreciative of the financial support it has received from members of the surrounding community. Normally, the club runs an annual silent auction and raffle to help offset operations costs. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, fundraising events will look a little different for the foreseeable future.

Below please find current fundraising initiatives:

The LSSA "Triple B" Coffee Fundraiser

For over four years, the Lethbridge Amateur Speed Skating Association has partnered with Cupper's Coffee & Tea to provide our community with fantastic coffee, support a wonderful local business and raise funds for the speed skating club.

As unique as the company themselves, Cupper's created the signature and exclusive "Triple B" (Bridge Blades Blend)  for LSSA. It is available to order in a number of specific grinds and roasts including: medium, dark and decaf!

Available grinds include:

  • Whole Bean

  • Drip - Regular Grind

  • Keurig

  • French Press/Percolator

For $20, a 1lb bag of the "Triple B" will be prepared just for you! As of March 2021, orders can be made online! Please follow this  LINK   and submit your order! We appreciate your support!

Is coffee not for you? Would you prefer tea or something a little different, too?

This fundraising offer includes tubes of creamy and delicious frappe mix!

The frappe mix is $12.95/200g tube, and makes six scrumptious beverages. These year-round drinks can be prepared with water, milk, or milk alternatives. They taste delicious and can be made either hot or blended with ice as a frappe!

Available in five fantastic flavours:

  • Ghirardelli Double Chocolate

Bottle donations are a fast and easy way to help our club and at your convenience. On arrival at the depot, please indicate to the attending staff member that the refund is to be donated to the “Lethbridge Speed Skating Club”, and the amount of the return is credited to the LSSA account. Easy as that!!!

The Ability Bottle Depot has two locations Lethbridge:

NORTH: 1610 29 Street North (a quick three minute drive from the Labor Club arena)

HOURS: 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. - Monday to Saturday, closed Sundays

SOUTH: 2915 32 Street South (near Costco)

HOURS: 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. - Monday to Friday,

9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. - Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. - Sunday

You can drop your containers off at either location.

**PLEASE NOTE:  You do not have to wait in line at the Ability Bottle Depot to donate. Please notify a staff member that you are making a donation to the "Lethbridge Speed Skating Club" and they will direct you to the back of the building where they will take your bottles to count at a later time.

If you cannot make it to either Ability Bottle Depot location during regular business hours , please send the club a message via lssa.sk8r@gmail.com and we'll arrange to return your containers for you.

Funds raised will help offset costs for basic operations (ice time, skate repairs and purchases, suit purchases, mat repairs, equipment upgrades, coaching travel costs as well as insurance).
