First & Fast Strides 
(Learn to Skate) program

If you're looking for how to learn basic skating skills, our coaches will help skaters work their way through four levels of the First & Fast Strides basic ice skating program, developed in 2024. 

(All ages welcome!)

Coaches will guide participants through each skating milestone – from their first steps on the ice, to gliding forward and backward around the rink. 

You provide: a CSA approved hockey helmet, skates (any type), long pants, mittens and a warm sweater or jacket.

Looking for a new sporting experience? Wondering if speed skating is as cool as it looks?  Our TRY IT program is for you!

All ages and abilities are welcome!

Please note that basic balance and movement on skates is needed. 

You provide a helmet, long pants and a warm sweater or jacket, and we can outfit you with the rest.

ready to learn to Speed Skate?

We have OPtions!

​

We offer both 1 and 2-day Learn To Speed Skate Programs to new skaters with your choice to skate on Tuesday or Thursday! You can also choose from half or full-year programs and experience the thrill of this sport. 

​

Coaches can help you decide when you're ready to compete, and advanced skaters can progress to skating three nights a week...and beyond.

​

Affordable equipment (skates and suits) are available to rent.  We also sell basic starter kits with the additional required safety equipment to skate.
