Several Lethbridge Speed Skaters ranked in top 10 provincially following Bridge Bolt event

LETHBRIDGE, AB – After the local Bridge Bolt event that took place on Feb. 23 and 24, a number of local Lethbridge speed skaters find themselves ranked in the top ten in Alberta.

The Alberta Amateur Speed Skating Association released rankings for all skaters in the province on Mar. 1 after the second Canada West qualifier held in Lethbridge. 

Lethbridge skaters ranked as follows:

T2T 11 Female Denise Wesseling    8th T2T 12 Female Mikka Eaves        2nd T2T 13 Female Jasmine Sinclair        8th T2T 14 Female Preslee Muller        4th T2T 12 Male Braeden Kremenik    3rd Jonnathan McIntosh    4th Easton Ogilvie        8th Carson Love        9th Jared Belisle        20th T2T 13 Male Riley Vanderburgh    6th Mitchell Wesseling    12th

In addition, Zakhary Adelman was ranked second in the province in the L2T (Learning to Train) division.

The Alberta Team, to attend Canada West, is in the process of being confirmed and will be announced prior to Mar. 13. The Canada West Short Track Championships brings together the best skaters in the Training to Train stage of development for the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the territories of Yukon and Northwest Territories.

Over 150 skaters participated at the most recent event, the Bridge Bolt, representing clubs from Grande Prairie, Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Rocky Mountain House, Medicine Hat in Alberta and Regina and Melville, Saskatchewan.
